About
Working primarily in oils and watercolours, my style is impressionistic, focusing on atmosphere, light, and emotion rather than perfect detail. My aim is not simply to paint a landscape, but to capture the feeling of standing there, the quiet of an early morning, the warmth of late afternoon light, or the changing weather that transforms a familiar scene.
Although landscapes are at the heart of my work, I'm equally inspired by wildlife, portraiture, and the human figure. Whether it's the watchful gaze of a bird of prey or the character etched into a weathered face, I'm drawn to subjects that tell stories beyond what first meets the eye.
Outside the studio, I'm an outdoorsman and endurance athlete. Time spent on mountains, trails, rivers, and coastlines continually shapes both my perspective and my paintings. Those experiences remind me that the best stories, and often the best paintings, begin by simply paying attention.
I believe art should be welcoming rather than intimidating. If one of my paintings stirs a memory, sparks a conversation, or inspires you to explore somewhere new, then it has achieved exactly what I hoped.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy exploring my work as much as I've enjoyed creating it.
